The combo that does the heavy lifting for you
Fighting monster deep-water species is challenging even for
experienced fishos. But with the right gear, you’ll enjoy catching
those big fish. The Shimano DDM Plays 4000 Status Blue
Water Bent Butt Deepwater Electric Combo is specially
matched to give you the power to win big fights!
The Reel
The new and improved Shimano Dendou Maru Plays 4000
Electric Reel is now designed with HAGANE BODY technology
meaning more rigid tolerances and a stronger frame that reduces
twist under load. The Plays 4000 also features the Heat Free System
that greatly reduces heat under load and keeps the reel performing.
The large Fine Dot LCD screen improves readibility in most light
conditions. Precision S-ARB bearings and Super Free Spool
technology to reduce friction and heat when dropping baits in to
the benthos.
LCD On-Screen Display
Large LCD Display with on-screen information such as program,
lineout, power and other relevant information.
HAGANE Body
HAGANE Body means this reel has a high rigidity and zero twist. The
body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body
flexing. The result transforms the anglers actions directly into
cranking power. It’s efficiency through strength.
Shielded Anti-Reverse Bearings
These bearings have been through the same process as the A-RB
bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that
reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings’
rotation.
Super Free
The Super Free bearing-supported pinion gear system (SF) was
designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast.
In standard baitcasting reels, when the clutch bar is pressed down,
the pinion gear is freed and can actually drag on the spool shaft,
creating friction and limiting the length of the cast. With SF, the
pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing and when the clutch is
disengaged the pinion hear and spool shaft are kept in precise
alignment. The result is zero friction on the spool shaft for
increased freespool.
The Rod
A combination of the Status Bent Butt and the classic Tiagra rod,
the Shimano Status Blue Water DDM Bent Butt Game
Rod is built to tackle the most dynamic offshore and
inshore sport fishing situations found throughout NZ’s surrounding
oceans. Featuring powerful E-Glass/carbon construction, this rod
has extreme strength whilst still maintaining comfortable feel,
making it perfect for fishing using electric reels, and both Tiagra
and Talica reels. This rod is finished with Pac Bay guides and
detachable Pac Bay bent butt.
