The Shimano Corvalus 400 Vortex Slow Jig Combo is
a great option. This combo comes with the versatile Corvalus 400
reel – ideal for slow/micro jigging. It’s paired up with the Vortex

The Reel
The Shimano Corvalus 400 is perfectly suited for
everything from slow jigging and soft baiting for snapper, blue cod
and trevally all the way through to bait fishing or trolling for
skipjack tuna. Team it up with braid and this versatile little reel
will see you through, no matter what your fishing needs are.

Constructed out of a die-cast aluminium frame, side plates and
spool the Corvalus boasts 3 A-RB bearings along with 1 stainless
steel roller bearing. The non-disengaging level wind system,
specific to the 400 model, makes laying the line onto the reel a
piece of cake. Whereas its variable brake system (VBS) uses
centrifugal forces to control the cast. It does this by creating
friction to reduce the speed of the spool, preventing any
backlashes from the line giving you a smoother, tangle free
cast.
