The Shimano Big Baitrunner XTB Long Cast Carbolite SW Spinning Surf Combo delivers

performance is perfect for beach casting where distance is
everything.

The Reel
The new and improved Shimano Big Baitrunner XTB Long Cast
Surfcasting Reel is back and fully stocked with the best
of Shimano technologies. It features a large AR-C spool with slow
oscillation in combination with the Aero Wrap II line lay system.
This ensures maximum distance casting performance. The X-Ship
system is also included to ensure a smooth power transfer and
stability or the gears thanks to the two point support of the
pinion gear by ball bearings.

All 4 ball bearings are shielded A-RB for increased durability and
the gears are redesigned to minimise friction and increase power
transfer from the long aluminium handle to the rotor.

Aluminium Cold Forged Spool
These spools provide strength and durability over diecast aluminium
or graphite spools.

Aero Wrap II Oscillation System
Aero Wrap II is a worm gear oscillation system with a specially
designed pitch to create optimal oscillation speeds for the
Propulsion Spool Lip design. It provides uniform line lay and
winding shape to prevent loss of energy during the cast while
providing longer casts than other oscillation systems. So, casting
distance increases with less effort required.

Shielded Anti-Reverse Bearings
These bearings have been through the same process as the A-RB
bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that
reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings’
rotation.

X-Ship
By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with the S-ARB bearings
and integrating bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing
efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with
ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect
rotation even under heavy loads.

The Rod
The Shimano Carbolite SW Spinning Surf Rod belongs
to a range of rods that deploy SVX2 technology; which when combined
with a set of custom low profile grips, Fuji reel seats and guides
create this powerful surf rod. The rod development team at Shimano
NZ are passionate strayline/bait enthusiasts and have designed the
Carbolite SW range utilising literally thousands of combined hours
targeting John Dory, Cod, Kingfish and monster Snapper soaking
baits and have taken pride in getting this series just perfect for
