The Reel

Reel features a large A-RC spool with slow oscillation.
Packed with big features, this big baitrunner has a
precision-forged Hagane Body and XShip supporting the pinion gear
on both ends with S-ARB bearings and integrating a bigger drive
gear to create higher gearing efficiency and embody more power. The
smooth power transfer and stability of the gears makes a
difference. The gears have been redesigned to minimise friction and
increase power transfer from the long aluminium handle to the
rotor.

Hagane Gear
The Hagane Drive Gear is produced by Shimano’s coldforging
technology, without the need for additional machining. This
delivers a longlasting smoothness, strenght, lightness and power at
the very heart of the reel. Traditional diecast, machined gears are
less durable under heavy loads.

XShip
XShip is a combination of features that work together to create
much greater efficiency. By positioning the pinion gear close to
the centre line of the large diametre drive gear, more power is
transferred from the handle to the rotor. The pinion gear is also
supported by two Shimano roller bearings, creating more
stability.

CI4
Carbon Interfusion 4 (valence electrons) is a graphite body
material that has been reinforced with carbon fibre. Lighter than
magneisum, yet more than enough to cope with the stresses of
saltwater fishing.

S-ARB
These bearings have been through the same process as A-RB bearings
but feature shields on both sides of the bearings, which reduce the
possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the rotation of the
bearings.

AR-C Spool
Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations
it has been determined that the new AR-C spool lip design provides
casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing
backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to
flow off the spool in smaller loops during the cast, which means
less slap on the strip per guide. This results in longer casts with
less friction.
