The Shimano Baitrunner XT Backbone Surfcasting
Combo is perfect for saltwater anglers who want a
heavy-duty rod and reel combo. The heavy-duty Backbone rod
complements the ultra strong and smooth Baitrunner XT reel. Matched
to provide longer casting distance and accuracy.

The Reel
The Shimano Baitrunner XT Medium Long Cast Reel
features a large AR-C spool with slow oscillation in combination
with the Aero Wrap II line lay system. This combination ensures
maximum distance casting performance. And what’s more, the X-Ship
system ensures smooth power transfer and stability of the gears
thanks to the two-point support of the pinion gear by ball
bearings.

Internally, all 4 ball bearings are shielded A-RB for increased
durability and the gears have been redesigned to minimise friction
and increase power transfer from the long aluminium handle to the
rotor. This delivers more torque and winding power making fish
playing easier and delivering more control. It’s the ideal choice
for most land-based and even boat based fishing techniques.

The Rod
The favourite Backbone series of rods just got an overhaul. The new
Shimano Backbone Surf Spin Rod is now stronger
than ever, with a higher quality blank, good quality componentry
and a new slick design that is bound to please.
