The Reel
The Shimano Baitrunner 12000 D Spinning Reel is
the product of precise engineering advances in Shimano’s premium
bait fishing range. Designed with Kiwi saltwater fishos in mind,
this versatile reel can cover different fishing style such as
saltwater casting from the shore or boat or straylining lightly
weighted baits down a berley slick intended for XOS Snapper. It’s

The Baitrunner 1200 D features a waterproof drag system, Aero-Speed
oscillation, cold forged aluminium spool, lightweight yet strong
graphite body with metallic black finish, Power Roller III, Super
Stopper II, Dyna-Balance and propulsion line management system. The
12000 D also has a generous line capacity making it the ultimate
choice for reef or saltwater fishos.

Aluminium Cold Forged Spool
These spools provide strength and durability over diecast aluminium
or graphite spools.

Super Stopper II
Super Stopper II anti-reverse uses a one-way bearing that
eliminates backplay. This provides the angler with instant hook
setting power. In some reels, the Super Stopper II can be turned
off to allow backreeling for special techniques and situations.

Power Roller
This is an oversized line roller that reduces twist from casting
and retrieving and is enhanced with a tapered area on the support
to help line get onto the roller quicker.

Aero Wrap II Oscillation System
Aero Wrap II is a worm gear oscillation system with a specially
designed pitch to create optimal oscillation speeds for the
Propulsion Spool Lip design. It provides uniform line lay and
winding shape to prevent loss of energy during the cast while
providing longer casts than other oscillation systems. So, casting
distance increases with less effort required.

Dyna Balance
This feature eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter
balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. By using
computer balancing, an approach similar to car tire balancing,
Shimano is able to redistribute the rotor weight to create smooth
rotation and eliminate vibrations caused by the reel.
